Oyo APC raises reconciliation committee

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has inaugurated its peace and reconciliation committee.
It urged members to ensure genuine reconciliation among aggrieved party members and loyalists.
The event, held at the party secretariat in Oke-Ado, was presided over by the Chairman, Chief Akin Oke. The committee is headed by former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.
Ex-governor Abiola Ajimobi had set up the committee in March, but the body could not be inaugurated due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Oke urged the committee to consult aggrieved members to achieve genuine reconciliation. The committee was also admonished to identify contentious issues in the party and come up with suggestions and recommendations, propose mechanism for resolving internal crises and other relevant issues that would help in genuine reconciliation efforts.

Alao-Akala promised that the committee would be committed and give its best, considering the importance of the assignment. He thanked the party and Ajimobi for finding them worthy for the assignment.
Other committee members are Prince Gbade Lana (Secretary); Kamar Ajisafe; Pa Akin Ojebode (Oyo Zone); Laide Abass (Ibarapa); Prof Dibu Ojerinde (Oke-Ogun II); Pa Adeleke (Oke-Ogun I); Senator Teslim Folarin (Senate caucus) and Segun Odebunmi (House of Representatives).
Others are Niran Alarape (State House of Assembly); Mojeed Olaoya (Youth Leader); Isiaka Areokuta (Women leader) and Mrs. Mabel William. The three senatorial zones are represented by Chief S.M. Akindele for Oyo Central, Prince Adefisiye Adekanye  for Oyo South and Alhaji Rasaq Arikewuyo for Oyo North.
