Aide hails Ugwuanyi’s Supreme Court victory

Special Adviser to Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of.Enugu.State on Social Mobilisation, Chief Ejikeme Odumegwu, has hailed Supreme Court’s affirmation of Gov. Ugwuanyi’s election, as Enugu residents continue to celebrate the victory.
Odumegwu gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen in Enugu on Sunday concerning the apex court’s judgment.
He noted that the judgment did not come as a surprise as the governor’s camp had maintained a transparent sheet before and after the election in 2015.
“Before today, we knew that victory will be for the people’s governor as he had played politics and governance of transparency and openness to the admiration of the people of the state,’’ he said.
According to him, the victory shows that the court is the last hope of the common man and the governor has humbled himself to the last minute of the judgment.
The governor’s aide noted that Ugwuanyi had endeared himself to the people of the state through focusing on people-oriented projects; adding that it would be disheartening to the people if he lost the election at the Supreme Court.
“Ugwuanyi in the last three years has constructed massive rural roads to open up the state, installed street lights in most urban roads, as well as, boost the health and education sectors of the state beyond the imagination of our people.
“Today, Enugu State remains the safest and most secured state in the country due to Ugwuanyi’s support to security agencies in the state while jobs are being created to cater for the youths as well,’’ Odumegwu, who is the Owelle of Enugu, said.
Meanwhile, most residents in Enugu metropolis are still celebrating the victory as the news formed the major discussion in major public places and eateries.
They thanked God for making the legal fireworks against the governor to be over for good.
An air of celebration is still ongoing at Enugu Government House, in particular since the “good news’’ filtered in from Abuja on Friday.
Most drinking joints located in the metropolis are still besieged by admirers and supporters of the governor as they gave free drinks to all, while sharing the “good news”.
