Kano State All Progress Conference (APC) Chairman Abdulmajid Danbilki Kwammanda has express worry about the country’s deteriorating security situation and called on President Muhammadu Buhari to fire the minister of defense, Major General Bashir Magashi, because of his inability to secure the country.
A few days ago the president fired two cabinet members, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Sabo Nanono; and Minister of Power Saleh Maman.
In a speech to reporters on Friday, Abdulmajid Danbilki Kwammanda called on the anti-theft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to start investigating the dismissed Minister of Agriculture and prosecuting him if found missing.
According to him, “My appeal to the President is that he also removes the Minister of Defense. If you look at the security situation in Nigeria, especially in the north, you will agree with me that the minister has not done his job well.
“He is doing his best to avoid the security challenge, but as a minister, Major General Bashir Magashi did nothing. Therefore, I ask Buhari to fire him immediately and replace him with a better candidate.
“We have better candidates from the state of Kano to replace Nanono and Magashi,” Abdulmajid Danbilki Kwammanda said.
