The Federal College of Horticulture Dadin-Kowa has matriculated seven hundred and eighty-eight students for the 2020/2021 academic session in Gombe State.
The matriculation took place at the Mallam Adamu Bello Library Complex of the College.
The Provost, Dr Babawuro Mahmoud Ali in his address welcomed guests while congratulating the students.
Babawuro expressed that the college will remain resolute on training students with qualitative learning materials and equipment for awards of various certificates.
He added that the school has provided a conducive environment in order to enhance learning in various Agriculture and related disciplines.
While urging the students to focus on their studies, he warned them to shun exam malpractice, cultism, drug abuse and be at their best behaviour.
While stating the college’s commitment to students welfare, he cautioned that the college will not tolerate the misuse of College equipment and facilities.
The Acting Registrar Alhaji Mohammed Gidado while administering the oat to the students said, the 788 students were from different departments and programs;
“204 ND and HND Students from the Animal Health Technology Department,51 ND students of Science Laboratory Department,31 HND from Agriculture Extension Management.
“While 64 HND students from Cooperative and Economic Management Department and 39 ND students from same Department respectively.
“Also the Department of Agriculture Technology had 24 HND students,35 ND and 81 OD students of Agric Bio Environment Technology,” he stated.
Gidado further presented “17 other HND students from Horticultural Technology,17 HND students of Pest and Management Technology and 5 ND students from horticultural Technology Department and finally 220 Computer and Library students of Ordinary Diploma Students from the Preliminary And General Studies Department respectively.”
