The present chief of staff, Ibrahim Attahiru has been reported dead in a plane crash. He died yesterday at Kaduna International Airport alongside 10 others in a military Beachcraft 350 aircraft.

The incident that claim lives of 11 people on board happened around 6pm on Friday.

According to the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, the plane crash which caused the death of Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 other officers was due to bad weather.

Meanwhile, the Senate President Ahmad Lawan has expressed sadness over the death of the chief of army staff, and other officers who died in an air crash in Kaduna.

Mohammed Ali Ndume also expressed shock over the Ibrahim Attahiru plane crash incident. According to him, the gallant General died at an early age.

Lucky Irabor, Nigerias chief of defense staff, described the incident as tragic. He console and sympathize with the families of the military personnel who lost their lives and ask them to take heart.
