Rangers head Coach Abdul Maikaba says the players have to overcome their heavy defeat in the last game quickly.
The Flying Antelopes will host Abia Warriors on Sunday and failure to win could cost them a continental ticket next season.
Rangers currently third on the log, but just three points ahead of a resurgent Enyimba.
“We have prepared to put in our best and come out with our heads held high. We need to get our acts together now rather than later in the season to ensure that our target of a continental ticket is achieved,” Maikaba said ahead of the game.
“Abia Warriors are a good side but I believe we are physically and mentally prepared for this match.”
“I just hope that the boys will be able to come up the scale, psychologically to brush aside the hangover of our last outing in Jos,” stated the widely travelled coach.
Despite Abia Warriors poor run of form on the road, Maikaba however, believes they remain a dangerous side and can’t be underrated.
“Abia Warriors may have lost their last two matches on the road to put them under some pressures but we have our work cut out here in Okigwe which is to grab the maximum points at stake and that is the resolve of the players. It will be tough as Abia Warriors deserve some respect and we shall approach the game with a huge respect but with our target intact.”
Recall the reverse fixture ended 2-1 in the favor of ‘Flying Antelopes’ in Nnewi.
