Two young men of their early twenties have been remanded by a magistrate court in Oke-Igbo, Ile-Oluji Local Government of Ondo State. The accused, by the name, Olaiya Tunde and Akinnuoye Festus were 21 and 24 years old respectively.

Festus and Tunde were charged to court on two count charges which are conspiracy and murder. Both of these charges are punishable by the law of Ondo State.

While in the court, the Police Prosecutor, Mr Abdul Lateef Sule noted:

  • That Olaiya Tunde and Akinnuoye Festus killed Pius Dada Omowunmi in a bush at Awo road, Oke-Igbo Axis.
  • That the accused also cut off Pius Dada Omowunmi ‘s head and both his hands and feet.
  • That the accused committed the crime on 14th August, 2020.

He then advised the court to transfer the case to the Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Oyedele Awe, Obliged to the request of the police prosecutor and transfered the case to the Director of Public Prosecution after adjoining the case to 30th April, 2021.
