One of the leaders of the Arewa Consultative Forum, Mr Emmanuel Yawe, on behalf of the group made declared their position on the disturbing issue while speaking in Kaduna on Saturday 8th May, 2021.

He  appreciated the people who put their lives in their hands all through the process of negotiating with the bandits in order to secure the release of those who are in their custody.

Because of their efforts, many people including students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Kaduna have been released and reunited with their relatives.

According to Mr Emmanuel Yawe, “We thank God for saving their lives and rejoice with their families both immediate and extended.

Our only regret is that millions of naira were alleged to have been paid to the bandits before they granted freedom to the kidnapped students.

Whatever may be the grievances of the kidnappers against society, spilling innocent blood will not be a solution.”

Emmanuel Yawe concluded by appealing to the bandits to release the innocent people in their custody without any further delay and allow them to be reunited with their families.
