Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho has been arrested in Benin Republic yesterday, Monday 19th July, 2021.

Igboho was arrested together with his wife by the International Police Organisations (Interpol) at the Benin Republic border while they were trying to escape to Germany.

Sunday Igboho’s lawyer while speaking with news men said that the Federal Government of Nigeria with the help of  INTERPOL got Sunday Igboho and his wife arrested while they were making effort to catch a flight to Germany.

He express shock over the arrest and urge the international community including Germany government and Benin Republic to rise up to defend the right of his client, and also nip at the bud the impunity of the Nigerian government. He urged them to resist every move by the Nigerian government to extradite Sunday Igboho to Nigeria.

Igboho is presently at the custody of the International Police Organisation in Benin Republic and deliberation is on going as to whether the body will release Igboho to the Nigerian government or not.

Professor Banji Akintoye and some other well meaning Yoruba leaders are already on their toes to make sure Ogboho is in good condition while in the custody of the Interpol.
