Marvin Young is his real name, also widely and professionally known as Young MC. He is a British-born American rapper, singer, producer and actor famous with the 1989 hit, “Bust a Move”.

Marvin was born on May 10, 1967 to Jamaican immigrant parents in South Wimbledon, London, England. He grew up a middle class. He left the United Kingdom at the age of three and later moved to Queens, New York, when he was eight years old.

Since the year 2000, Marvin Young returned with Ain’t Going Out Like That on the indie label Young Man Moving. He has so far released good number of independent albums, including Engage the Enzyme (2002), Adrenaline Flow (2007), and Relentless (2009), throughout the decade.

In 2009, Young MC made an appearance in the Oscar-nominated film Up in the Air.
