TB Joshua accused of gay cure

The pastor was seen in videos giving ‘gay cure’ to people by ‘slapping the spirit of gay’ out of them.

A UK based media rights group, OpenDemocracy, reported the gay cure videos of TB Joshua to YouTube. YouTube has therefore bans TB Joshua Channel

Lydia Namubiru, a member of the group while speaking with CNN says:

“We noticed at least seven videos. In one video, T.B. Joshua slapped a woman and her partner whom he called her ‘second’ (partner) at least 16 times. He said he was casting the ‘spirit of woman’ out of her.

The woman later told TB Joshua that she no longer felt affection for her partner because of his intervention”.

Official statement by YouTube

YouTube has responded explaining why it has placed a ban on TB Joshua Channel. A spokesperson on 21st April, 2021 told CNN that TB Joshua’s channel was banned because of it’s constant breaching of Youtube policy and regulations against hate speech.

“YouTube’s Community Guidelines prohibits hate speech and we remove flagged videos and comments that violate these policies. In this case the channel has accumulated three strikes and has been terminated,”

“Good Morning! I want to salute our viewers all over the world. I got to know what happened to YouTube when I saw the viewers complaining. That is the work of God! It is like honey. Wherever it drops, insects seek and find it.

What happened is a blessing. I want you to help me pray for YouTube. Pray for them! Don’t see them the other way around; see them as friends. We need to be strong. Be strong!”

“I viewed the comments of viewers all over the world. Humanly, I know the way you look at it is not the way am going to look at it. I look at it differently.

Remember to pray for YouTube. Many of you who are here today – if not for YouTube, you may likely not be here. It was through YouTube you viewed TB Joshua and were able to come here. Please, pray for them.

Look at it in another way. They are friends. Very soon, the whole thing will be settled. Thank you very much”
